We have coded our own unplugged program of the five stages of the cicada lifecycle. We have included some obstacles too. The goal is to be able to have someone follow our codes to navigate our lifecycle by getting from stage 1 to stage 5 and avoiding the obstacles. Here are some examples of our coded lifecycles.

Reading Week 11 Term 1 2021 All Groups
Our teachers have been reading us the story “Charlotte’s Web’. We had to create something about the characters, setting or plot of the story. I decided to make a title page off the book.
Here is my work:
Chocolate
This writing task was about a language experience. Our teachers brought different kinds of chocolate to school and we got to eat it! We tried white chocolate, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, caramel chocolate and pink chocolate. We could write about it in any way we liked but our teachers hoped we would use lots of describing language and our senses.
Chocolate
Chocolate is so delicious. The white chocolate looks like a small block of bird poop!; it smells like milk. And the brown chocolate looks like a little baby poo and it smells like coffee.
When I bite into the scrumptious brown chocolate it melts in my mouth like a big streaming chocolate waterfall going down my throat and it melts down my fingers.
My favourite chocolate is white chocolate. It is like a white ice cube. Chocolate feels like solid milk. It is hard to break.
Easter Recount
The goal of this writing activity was to retell what we did during Easter. We had to remember to use sequencing adverbs at the beginning of our paragraphs.
My Easter holiday
Yay! I can't wait until we get to Aunty Bee's house. We are going to have an egg hunt. It is going to be so FUN!
Firstly Where here finally! I opened the door and ran to the door until I saw Levi “hi Levi”I said happily I saw someone that I haven't seen before. Then I went to the grape bush. I was going to pick one but it had a wasp in it there. There were wasps everywhere so I just went inside.
Secondly I saw Levi and his friend on the deck and I thought how did they get there so fast? They were eating POPCORN!! I love popcorn (especially sweet & salty) . I grabbed a handful and I bit it. It was so delicious then I realised that it was sweet & salty.
Finally my mum and the others went to kayak while Aunty Tammy looked after us.”OK get your shoes on it's time to go Easter egg hunting now” “yay!” we all shouted I ran out the door without putting my shoes on but I didn't care so I just walked to the hill because my feet hurt. I should have put my shoes on actually but everyone was going so I finally made a decision. Quinn (my sister) and Donne and Jerako went on the quad with Aunty Tammy. Me Levi and that other boy who I finally found out his name went down to the river Levi found four I found tow and the other boy went home with his parents.
Handwriting Term 1 2021
Here is my handwriting sample.I think that I am good at copying the letters correctly. I need to work on keeping my lower case letters a consistent height and size.

Reading week 10 tearm 1
This week for reading we had to complete a cloze activity after we read a story about chocolate.
Here is my work:
Emerald Week 10 Term 1 2021 SJ 2.3.1998 A Cup of Koko.
Complete the cloze activity below which describes what a drink of
koko smells and tastes like :
Use the following words to fill in the spaces: (If you need help, look
on pages 39 and 40 for clues).
When cocoa beans are being roasted they get darker and darker and
the delicious, chocolatey smell gets stronger. A mug of thick creamy, hot koko is just what Annie needs.
